Since a young age Melissa has approached art with a whimsical and abstract manner. Looking for creativity in everyday life, daydreams, and other artistic movements. Capturing the moment in ink, pencil, acrylic or what ever may be within arms reach becomes the start of a new piece of artwork. Melissa completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, Augustana campus. The inspiration for her work comes from her experiences in travel, culture, education, and her family. The combination of training and love of all arts transpires in her raw canvas creations. Melissa primarily likes to work in acrylic on canvas, but has experimented with several other mediums in the process. |
Throughout her career she wishes to engage her audience into dialog and thought about the processes of art.
"Art should stimulate the mind, stir the soul, and bring a bit of beauty to everyone's life. It is not something I just make and sell, it is something I live and want to inspire people with."
